THARPARKAR: An event was olawyerzed under the aegis of Young Legal Activists Society at NED University Campus Mithi the other day to accentuate the importance of law and fundamental rights inculcated in the Constitution of Pakistan 1973.
The event was attended by lawyers, students, members of the civil society, and people hailing from different walks of life who shared their views regarding the prevailing wave of lawlessness in the province and the violation of those rights guaranteed by the constitution.
Addressing the event former Civil Judge Raheel Samsam Khan said that law had been a shield to protect the weak from the mightier and it ended anarchy in the society. He said that despite loopholes in our judicial system, the court was the only hope for the poor and subjugated class of our society and our youngsters should keep their hopes high as their positive attitude would help them face challenges audaciously.
The former judge also stressed the need of serving the homeland after completing the education and achieving a high designation.
Member of Sindh Bar council Advocate Ashraf Samoon applauding the efforts of you lawyers said that this event was a highly commendable move initiated by the law students adding that in this epoch of judicial crisis young lawyers were keeping the hopes of people alive by making them aware of their rights and importance of law in an independent society.
Barrister Ali Tahir Arain emphasized the need for collaboration between young lawyers and experienced lawyers adding that through cooperation several social and legal issues could be addressed. Addressing the young lawyers in his distinguished way he said that as an active member of the legal fraternity he would extend all possible support to his juniors because he was well aware of the predicament young lawyers faced at an early stage of his career.
Qasim Kumbhar member of the Young Legal Activist Society executive committee said that these sorts of events would effuse positive thoughts in the society and that positivity would help us create a progressive society. Mahtab Rathore, Shafi Rajar, and others also addressed the gathering.
